CHAPTER TWELVE

A man’s got to do what a man’s got to do

I woke up with one of Adien’s arms over my waist and the other was under my head. 

Adien tightened his grip on me and pulled me closer against him. “Already awake?” he barely whispered.

Unable to resist taking the opportunity to touch him as well, I placed my hand over his hand that’s holding me sa kabila ng pagbilis ng tibok ng puso ko. “This is a very nice way to wake up.”

I heard his sexy chuckle. “I couldn’t agree more. We should do it again tonight.”

Goosebumps rose on my skin when Adien began tracing imaginary circles on my arm with his thumb.

Adien chuckled. I know that he knows exactly how I feel sa haplos nito.

“So, tonight then?” He teased me.

I pinched his side before I snuggled closer to him. “Make it as a promise then.”

Agreeing so easily to his request, I can hear the suspicion in his voice. “Really?” 

I just nod my head bilang sagot dito.

What could I say? I have a lifetime of atonement because of my stupidity.

Adien let out a soft laugh I used to hear. I know he’s gonna tease me about something when I hear my stomach crumble.

“Come on, let’s eat breakfast. I can make your favorite.” Natatawa ulit na sabi nito.

Gusto ko sanang mag protesta dito pero sa pangalawang pagkakataon, kumulo ulit yung tyan ko na syang kinatawa na ng malakas nito. I reluctantly pulled my arms away from him and got out of the bed.

Salamat sa unlimited na stash ng toothbrush ni Adien, we both brushed our teeth and washed our faces at the same time. At pagkatapos, we both went straight to the kitchen. 

Bago pumunta si Adien sa may counter kung nasaan yung coffee maker, he pulled a chair for me and gently pushed my shoulders down, urging me to sit down.

So I sat down and just watched him. Even in college Adien looks perfect. Mas lalo na ngayon, maturity suits him.

The faint smell of coffee hits my nostrils. I can’t help but let out a sigh of pleasure. I think I sigh too loudly dahil bigla akong nilingon ni Adien.

“Still a coffee lover huh.” Nakangiting puna nito habang inaabot sakin yung mug na hawak nito.

“Thanks.” I mumbled as I watched his back dahil bumalik to sa coffee maker para gumawa ng para naman dito.

Hinintay ko na matapos muna tong umupo sa tabi ko before I took a sip. I let out another slow sigh of pleasure. Why does his coffee taste better than mine when we are both using the same brand?

He suddenly turned his body in my direction and gave me a gentle smile habang nilalagay sa likod ng tenga ko yung ilang hibla ng buhok na napunta na sa mukha ko.

His touch seems natural na para bang araw araw nito yung ginagawa when in fact, last time he did this was years ago.

Then it hits me why his coffee tasted much better. It’s all because of him.

The sounds of thunder outside makes me come back to reality. Napatingin ako sa maliit na bintana sa taas ng sink.

I frowned and then raised my eyebrow when I suddenly remembered something. “So, did you really know that there will be a storm when you summon me here?”

Adien laughed softly. Halata yung pagkabigla nito sa tanong ko but he didn’t answer me.

I raised my eyebrow more. “That is not an answer.” Tukoy ko sa ginawa nitong pagtawa. “I would consider that as a yes.”

He pinched my nose and flicked my forehead.

“Why?” Pag i-insist ko pa rin dito.

“A man’s got to do what a man’s got to do.” He said nonchalantly while sipping his coffee.

I shook my head. “I don’t really know how your mind works.”

Sa pagkabigla ko tumawa lang to ng malakas. “And thank god for that.”

Naiinis na lumabi ako dito pero nagulat ako when he suddenly said, “Stop doing that with your lips.” His voice turned gentle again, making it hard for me to concentrate when my stomach started flipping again

Our eyes met and his stare turned smoky and hot.

I tried not to scowl at him on how he is looking at me.

Adien smirks.

Based on his smirk, he knows how his intense stare makes me nervous. Until finally I huffed at him with my bright pink cheeks, “Stop staring at me.”

Hindi nito pinansin yung sinabi ko. Instead, he raised his hand to touch my cheek down to my chin as he lazily smiled at me which made me blush even more.

My heart raced as I realized what he was going to do. Heat flushed through me. Butterflies fluttered wildly in my belly. I felt like a teeanger.

But in the end Adien squeezed his eyes closed and rested his forehead against mine.

He probably thinks that I’m still not ready for this based on what he said last night.

But I missed being touched. Being held. Being needed.

With that in mind, I pressed my lips against his. A soft brush of mouth against mouth.

I pulled away when suddenly, Adien’s finger dug into my neck like something snapped inside him. I swear my heart was ready to burst out of my chest.

I fed all my emotions into the kiss as I wrapped my arms around his neck and curled my fingers into his soft thick hair. Our tongues stroked in desperation.

He suddenly raised and put me in his lap without breaking our kiss. I feel his hand in my bared waist which sends sweet shivers down my spine. An intense ache grew between my legs as his hands went up.

I grabbed his shoulders harder as I moaned. He stared at my eyes lustfully as he kissed the side of my neck. 

Kissing me and touching me slowly that’s making me crazy and wanting for more. I mumbled his name in protest. 

He let out a sexy chuckle at bago pa ako makapag react, he suddenly grabbed my neck and kissed me roughly.

I moaned as I kissed him back passionately. I’m so lost in him that I didn’t know what’s happening in our surroundings when he abruptly stopped and pulled away, sat straight and pulled my shirt down na hindi ko namalayan na medyo nakataas na pala.

Nagtataka akong tumitig dito. But instead of looking back at me, sa likod ko to nakatingin. And how I wished, nilamon nalang ako ng lupa when he suddenly said. “Morning Manong Henry and Manang Minerva.”

I groaned as I bit my lips really hard. Alam kong wala ng ikakapula pa yung mukha ko.

God kill me now!
