This version of Devon died a long time ago.

I took a deep breath and decided to end his game. “Let’s stop beating around the bush and get this over with.”

I’m going to spend my entire vacation with him. I might as well, laid all my cards.

I don’t want to play mind games with him.

I had enough.

“Let’s talk.” I looked him straight in the eyes. “Like really talk and part ways.”

Devon looked surprised. Every trace of humour has left his eyes. When he opened his lips to speak, I held my hand in front of his face. “What do you really want?”

His facial expressions soften. “I want to apologize.” He sighed. “I want to apologize for all the things I’ve done.” His voice is so tender and pleading. “I’m extremely sorry.”

Natigilan ako.

I expected everything but that.
