Chapter One: Just enjoy your vacation and let me……

I raised my hand to block the sun seeping in through the window.

I didn’t want to get up.

Aside from being hot and bothered. My body was still exhausted from the long drive.

I groaned and decided to stay in my bed for a few minutes.

My body feels heavy. Like seriously heavy.

I just grabbed my phone at the bedside table and checked my mails.

I had a ton of messages and missed calls from Rei, Robbie and Sigrid.

Oh right Sigrid.

I have been too tired and sleepy to even send her a message last night.

Great. I don’t need Sigrid stalking me all the way here.

I typed a quick “I’m still breathing” and hit the send button.

It’s finally ten o’clock when I have the strength to get off my bed and call the room service.

In fifteen minutes, I’m already eating my breakfast while watching some random show.

This is how I’m going to spend my one and a half months. How adventurous and exciting. Note the sarcasm.

The rest of the morning went by quickly.

By noon, I wore my swimsuit and decided to force myself to go out of my room. I don’t mind the heat, I enjoy having a little bit of tan.

I wore my shades and walked to the sliding door that leads to a balcony.

After being bored and worn-out on a road trip for half a month. I decided to stay in this resort.

I looked around.

The view is breathtaking at konti lang yung tao.

This is a private resort after all.

I don’t want any unwanted attention, the reason why I chose this particular place.

Pinuno ko ng sariwang hangin yung dib-dib ko at naisipan kong maglakad lakad sa tabing dagat.

Every time I pass someone hindi pwedeng hindi sumunod yung tingin nila sakin.

Talk about not wanting unwanted attention.

I forgot the fact na kahit saan man ako pumunta o kahit ano man yung isuot ko, people will definitely look. That’s just how the way it is.

The life of being almost perfect.

I laughed at my thoughts and continued to walk down the seaside.

I had been walking aimlessly for one hour now.

It helped to clear my mind.

I looked around and scanned the area.

Mukang napalayo na ako kung pagbabasihan ko yung kokonting tao sa tabing dagat.

I was about to turn around and walked back to my cottage when I twist my foot the wrong way,

I cursed inwardly.

My right foot hurts! Freaking great Armie!

When I was about to stumble into the ground, someone steadied me.

“Thank you—“ I stopped.

No! Erased that! I froze when I recognized his familiar voice. “Careful, mine.” He said in a casual manner. But I could see the mischievous glint in his eyes.

“What a-are yo-you…” I paused and gulped the lump on my throat. “Wha-t are yo-u doing here?” I asked him, feeling dumb with how much I’m stuttering.

Devon grinned at me. “Having a vacation?” He replied and smiled cheekily.

My face turned red in anger.

I snorted.

Having a vacation my ass!

After a few minutes, my eyebrows pulled together in confusion when I realized something.

Wait! How did he find me?

Sigrid will never tell him where I was.

And this place was like almost seven hours drive from home.

I sighed.

Either he put a tracking device on me or this is just a pure coincidence.

I prefer the latter.

I took a deep breath, trying to control my nerves.

But one thing is certain, I’m definitely getting out of here!

I untangled myself from his embrace.

But he grabbed my elbow nang magtangka akong lumayo dito.

“I’m fine!” I snapped at him and tried to stand up on my own.

I looked at my foot.

The ache is still there but it’s bearable.

 Nilipat ko yung tingin ko kay Devon, particularly sa kamay ko na nakahawak sa dib-dib nito.

Saka ko lang napansin yung ayos nito.

He’s wearing a damn polo with open buttons kaya kitang kita ko yung tikas ng dib-dib nito.

I lifted my eyes from his drolly chest.

Oh Damn! Wrong move!

What’s with the freaking sex hair?

Devon is the only man I know that looked extremely good with a bed head.

No! No! Don’t go there Armie! You’re just horny because of that freaking dream!

Nagmamadali akong lumayo dito at muntikan na ulit akong bumagsak nang maitapak ko yung paa ko na sumasakit.

Buti nalang naagapan ulit ako ni Devon. He sighed. “Come on, mine. Let me help you.”

What’s with the endearment and gentle eyes?

All of my senses scream “red alert”.

I pushed him away. “I said, I’m fine!” I just got distracted.

I cleared my throat. “Why are you really here anyway?” I asked him flatly.

A trace of a smile crossed his face. “Are you sure you’re ready to hear my answer?”

I gulped hard.

Probably not! I don’t like the way he’s looking at me.

It was so familiar.

I need to put a stop to this!

I turned my back to walk away from him.

He called my name but I ignored him.

After a few minutes, dumadami na yung nadadaanan naming tao sa tabing dagat.

Devon suddenly grabbed my arm dahilan para mapahinto ako sa paika-ika kong paglalakad.

When I looked up at him, his entire expression had changed. He looks serious now. Wala na yung playful mood nito kanina.

“What?”

He didn’t respond, he just took off his clothes.

What the—-

Bago pa ako makapagsalita, pinalibot na nito sakin yung polo na suot nito.

I raised my eyebrow and looked at him inquiringly.

“They keep looking at you.” Sabi nito habang tinitignan yung grupo ng kalalakihan hindi nalalayo sa kinakatayuan namin.

Mas lalong tumaas yung kilay ko. “So?”

Mas lalo namang nag ekis yung mga kilay nito sa naging sagot ko.

I chuckled and looked at him mockingly. “Don’t tell me, you’re getting territorial and jealous because of that fvck up night?”

But to my surprise, Devon smirked at me. “Oh, I’m allowed to talk about that night now?”

I stared at him in shock.

It took me minutes to regain my composure. I huffed and decided to just ignore him and walked away. Again.

An awkward silence followed.

All I wanted to do was to go back to my cottage, crawl into my bed and stay away from Devon as far as possible.

“Let me carry you.” Devon broke the silence.

I snorted.

There’s no way in hell I was going to let him know where I’m staying.

Nang tumapat na ako sa cottage ko, hindi pa rin ako huminto sa paglalakad dahil hindi ako tinantanan ni Devon sa pagsunod.

Devon grabbed my arm kaya napatigil ako. “Where are you going?” He asked, grinning at me.

I yanked my arm away from him. “My cottage is still far away from here.” I replied, feigning innocence.

I tried my best not to blink in case that action gave my lie away.

Suddenly, Devon seemed a little coy. “Oh really? But I swear, I saw you getting out from there.”  Turo nito sa mismong cottage ko.

I gasped. I’m pretty sure, my mouth hung open.

“What the!”

He smirked and grabbed my waist.

I yelped in surprise and before I could even protest, He picked me up in bridal style

I shrieked. “What the hell are you doing??”

Nanlalaki yung mga matang tinitigan ko to nang nginisihan lang ako nito. “Put me down.”

He ignored me as he kept walking towards my cottage.

In a few seconds, I’m already in front of my door.

Binaba agad ako nito at bago pa ako makapagsalita, naglakad nato sa katabing cottage.

Binuksan nito yung pintuan at nakangisi na nilingon ako. “Just so you know, I’m also staying here for one and a half months.” He said as he went inside his cottage, leaving me more astounded and bewildered.

Bago pa ulit ako makabawi sa pagkabigla, binuksan ulit nito yung pintuan nito at sumilip. “Oh and don’t bother to change your room or run away. No matter where you go, I’ll find you.” He smirked. “Just enjoy your vacation and let me enjoy you.” He added, winking at me bago to tuluyang pumasok sa loob.
