Chapter Seventeen: Let him go to jail and let the other man die.
We stared at each other, studying each other’s faces until Rei coughed in the most dramatic way possible, snapping us out of our trance.
I tear my eyes away from Devon.
What the fvck just happened?
I sighed and looked at Rei. I raised my eyebrow, feigning ignorance.
Rei stood up. “Ok! Truth or dare officially sucks!!”
He was laughing but his eyes told me a different story.
I cleared my throat. “I don’t want to say, I told you so.”
Rei walked towards me. “Come on, let’s go downstairs and have a real party.” He said as his hand reached out to me.
I grabbed his hand and let him pull me up.
Rei looked at Katrina. “Come on, Kat. Come with us. This is not your usual crowd so you can drop your act and be the real you.”
Katrina huffed childishly and rolled her eyes. “You know, I can’t do that.”
“No need to act perfect. This is a close-knit party babe. Besides, I think all my guests are probably high to even give a fvck.”
I stared at Katrina’s face, a smirk playing on my lips. “You lived a double life?” I asked curiously.
Katrina nodded.
“Sucks to be you.” I muttered.
Katrina laughed. “Look who’s talking.” She replied, mysteriously and then she suddenly looked down beside me. “You’re coming Devon?”
Realization hits me. I forgot about him. I snapped my head at Rei’s direction and threw him an accusing glare.
Rei shrugged his shoulders and snorted.
Devon looked at me before looking at Rei. And then finally settled his gaze at Rei. “You can’t guard her 24/7. You know that right?” He asked. He looked surprisingly calm.
I feel like someone just pounded me in the gut.
What’s with the mixed signals! Really!!
I’m about to tell him to fvck off and stop messing with my darn head when I heard my door open.
Napatigil at napatingin kaming lahat sa nagbukas ng pinto.
I gasped and blinked plenty of times before I found my voice. “For the love of God! What the fvck are you doing here?”
Nang hindi to sumagot, nilipat ko yung tingin ko kay Devon.
I’m freaking angry right now. I know my eyes are squinted and my lips are sneering. “You invite him here?” I hissed.
I can’t believe this guy!
Who the hell does he think he is para mag-imbita ng iba. Samantalang gate crasher lang naman sya!
Devon looked shocked for a moment and then his face went blank again. Still not bothering to answer me.
“Who is that?” Katrina asked.
I feel nauseous as I crack my knuckles. “Devon’s freaking best friend! Andrew!!” I spat out, looking at Andrew’s face in disgust.
Devon’s best friend screams “dick face” and “pathetic excuse for a human being”.
“I can feel the love in the air.” Rei said in irony.
“What the fvck Devon?” Sita ko ulit dito ng hindi pa rin to nagsasalita.
Devon shrugged his shoulders. “I think it’s about time for us to have a reunion.”
I gaped at him.
Is he kidding me right now?
I really have this urge to smack his face really hard! Baka sakali na maalog ang utak nito at matauhan!
“Reunion?” Rei asked curiously but he looked guarded.
“Beats me!” I muttered, looking at Andrew with so much hatred.
A pair of hands slips around my waist from behind dahilan para mapaigtad ako. I looked over my shoulder, only to be greeted by Devon’s face.
Ang kapal! Putulin ko kaya yung kamay nya.
“Take your hands off me.” Mariin kong utos dito.
But of course being the chauvinist and cocky bastard that he is, hindi ako nito pinansin.
“Aren’t you happy to see him? Last time you saw him, we are still in college.” He asked dangerously as his grip got tighter. But I noticed that he’s not looking at me. He’s looking at his best friend na nagka ugat na yata sa may pintuan.
Andrew’s eyes grew wide. He looked stunned and scared?
Devon suddenly looked at me. “He’s your Ex, right?” Tanong nito sa pagkagulat ko.
I blinked twice and it takes a few minutes to understand what he’s trying to say.
Ex? College? What the fvck?
I swirled around and slapped his face so hard I could hear the sound. “Huwag mong ipasa sakin yung ginawa mo!” Nanggagalaiti kong sagot dito.
How dare him, pinning his betrayal on me!
I’m trembling with rage. I smacked his chest out of anger. “Fvck you!”
But to my surprise, Devon pulled me to his chest and kissed my forehead.
I pushed him away but he grabbed my hand. I’m still freaking angry but hurting him did the trick. It made me less pissed off.
He squeezed my hand and kissed my knuckles before he let it go. Devon walked towards his best friend with long strides and the next thing I know, nasa sahig na si Andrew habang naka ibabaw si Devon dito.
Devon hits Andrew’s face repeatedly. I’m darn surprised by his outburst.
It was as if Devon had suddenly been possessed by a demon with an uncontrollable fury.
Never in my life did I think that this would happen. Andrew is like a brother to him.
Devon hitting his best friend’s face is like a seeing unicorn and leprechauns. I would not have believed it if I didn’t witness it with my own eyes.
Katrina’s voice brought me back into reality. “Stop him Rei! He could kill him.”
Rei smiled sheepishly. “Let him go to jail and let the other man die.”
Katrina’s mouth pops open in shock.
“What?” Rei asked and raised his eyebrow. “From what I gathered. They both deserve it.” He added nonchalantly, like everything that’s happening in front of us is just a daily basis.
I sighed. “Stop them.”
Rei threw me a look that clearly stated “Are you sure?”
I nodded my head.
Rei rolled his eyes. “Fine.” He grumbled as he pulled Devon off his best friend’s limp body.
Papiksi naman na inalis ni Devon yung mga kamay ni Rei sa balikat nito. Pero tinigil na nito yung pag suntok kay Andrew.
Andrew’s face looks deformed pero wala man lang akong naramdaman na awa o ano pa man. Devon could kill him for all I care, hwag lang sa kwarto ko.
I don’t want a dead body inside my room. That’s the only reason I want them to stop. Pangungumbinsi ko nalang sa sarili ko.
Sinipa ni Devon yung lupaypay na katawan ni Andrew sa sahig. “Get the hell out of here!”
Paika-ika naman na umalis si Andrew sa harap namin ng hindi kami tinitignan o nagsalita man lang.
Muntikan na akong mapaigtad ng basta nalang hinawakan ni Devon yung braso ko. Hindi ko man lang napansin na nakalapit na pala to sakin.
“Leave this room.” Sabi nito habang nakatingin kay Katrina at Rei.
Rei snorted. “This is my house. Kung meron mang dapat umalis dito. That would be you.”
Devon smirked. “I know that you will say that.” He paused and suddenly grabbed my waist.
I shrieked. ”What the heck——“ I was cut off when he suddenly grabbed me off the ground and placed me over his shoulder, leaving my face hanging in front of his sexy butt.
“But too bad, I won’t leave without her.” Devon said.
I shrieked and wiggled. “Put me down Devon!”
I feel so dizzy and wanted to throw up kaya napatigil ako sa pagpiglas na ginagawa ko.
Oh god! I swear as soon as my nausea was gone. He’s fvcking dead!
