Chapter Fifteen: YOU!
I looked straight into his eyes.
He’s serious! I thought and gasped in shock.
This is not the right time to freak out Armie!
I heaved a deep sigh, trying to calm myself.
I opened my mouth to speak but the word just wouldn’t come out.
After a few minutes of silence, I look away.
What Am I gonna say?
The famous line “I can’t wait to see you trying?”
It will be like adding fuel to the fire and not to mention, that line was so unoriginal.
It’s either be silent or say something better than silence.
In this case, it is better to remain silent.
Tumayo nalang ako at tumalikod dito. I can hear him calling my name pero hindi ko to nilingon at pinagpatuloy ko lang yung paglabas ko ng kwarto.
I walked on towards my room in deafening silence.
I heard footsteps behind me. I just don’t have the courage to look back or maybe, I just don’t give a fvck anymore!
I might not be really high but my head is spinning and thinking about Devon makes me even dizzier.
“Took you so long. Where’s Devon?” Bungad sakin ni Rei pagpasok ko sa kwarto ko.
I shrugged my shoulders in a nonchalant way at naglakad sa fridge. I grabbed my water bottle and slammed the fridge door.
After using joints, feeling ko uhaw na uhaw ako.
I took a quick swig of it and strides towards them. Saka ko napansin na nakaupo na si Devon sa tabi ni Rei.
For a moment, I just stood there looking at him.
Rei cleared his throat dahilan para mapaigtad ako.
Walang bakanteng pwesto kung hindi sa tabi ni Devon. Refusing to sit beside him won’t be a very good idea.
Pabuntunghininga na pinagpatuloy ko nalang yung paglapit ko sa kanila at tahimik na naupo sa tabi nito.
I looked around. “Now that everyone is here. I’m going first.” I said in my fake cheery tone, looking at Katrina’s direction as I raised my eyebrow. “Truth or dare?”
“Dare.” Game na sagot nito.
“I’ll go easy on you because we are just starting.” I grabbed my water bottle and grinned at her. “Play one round in your underwear.”
Katrina grinned back and started to strip her clothes off.
She is definitely confident with her body.
I looked between Rei and Devon.
I noticed that they have the same expression on their faces. They’re both amused.
I frowned.
Where’s the freaking boner?
I looked at her upside down.
Kung lalaki lang ako, I will definitely bang this body.
Tumingin si Katrina kay Rei. “Truth or dare?”
“Truth.” Rei replied without batting an eyelash.
Katrina rolled her eyes. “That’s no fun and so lame.” She hissed at Rei.
Tumawa lang si Rei bago nito nilipat yung mga mata nito sa pwesto ko. “Truth is way better than dare in terms of courage.” He replied, not taking his eyes off me.
I ignored him and gulped my water.
He’s so freaking nosy! Hindi na nga ako nagsasalita!
Katrina shook her head and chuckled. “Who took your virginity?”
Rei looked around and scratched the back of his head.
He’s embarrassed.
I smirked. He should be.
That’s what you get for being a smartass!
“My mom’s friend.” Rei finally answered.
Katrina’s eyes widened in shock. “You’re a man whore.” Natatawa na sabi nito.
I shook my head. “More like, his mom’s friend was a crazy whore.” I scoffed and started to laugh hysterically.
I knew exactly what happened. His mom’s friend practically devoured him.
Pagkatapos daw mangyari yon, ilang linggo tong hindi tumingin sa opposite sex.
For god’s sake, that crazy woman tied his hands and spanked him plenty of times before she fvcked his brains out. It was a terrifying experience for a fourteen years old boy.
Not that I blame her. Rei practically sees it coming but of course being a horny teenager that he was and still is, sumige pa rin to.
“Alam mo yung tungkol don?” Tanong ni Katrina sakin.
“He talks too much when he’s drunk.”
Katrina threw Rei a teasing smile.
Rei rolled his eyes. “Enough about me. It’s Devon’s turn now.” Singit naman nito sa usapan namin ni Katrina.
Rei looked at Devon with mischief. “Truth or dare?” He asked, looking playful.
Imbis na tignan ni Devon si Rei. He stared at me. “Truth.” Sagot nito bago nito nilipat yung tingin nito kay Rei.
What the fvck is wrong with these men?
Ngumisi si Rei. “Have you ever fallen in love?”
What the hell!! What’s with the teenage question?
I looked at Rei in disbelief. “You might as well braid his hair and do his make up.” I suggested sarcastically.
“Oh come on, it is quite interesting.” Sagot ni Rei, hindi nawawala yung ngisi sa mga labi nito.
I rolled my eyes. “Yeah right. That was so interesting, I wanted to puke.”
That was a fvcking stupid move and lamest question I’ve ever heard. Besides, kelangan pabang itanong yon. Devon is not capable of loving. Period! No erase!
Rei just grinned at me. “Wait for your turn and choose the truth then.” He replied, clearly challenging me.
I frowned.
He really needs to mind his own damn business.
I huffed and waved my hand dismissively.
“What’s your answer Devon?” Katrina asked curiously.
“Yes.” Devon answered stiffly.
I snapped my head at his direction and stared at him, dumbfounded.
I could feel my heart clenching painfully, making it hard for me to breath.
He has a heart after all!
Hallelujah for that. I thought bitterly.
I clenched my hand into a fist so tight I could feel my nails digging into my skin but I shrugged it off.
Physical pain is so much better.
“Truth or dare.” Devon asked and looked intently at me.
I snapped back into the reality and looked back at him. “Truth.” Baliwala lang na sagot ko dito.
Nakita ko yung pagkagulat sa mukha nito. But he regained his composure really fast. “Who is your first love?” He asked, using his straight face.
In different circumstances, I will definitely scratch his eyes out and throw a bitch fit at him.
But right now, I’m tired. Hearing him said “Yes” made me feel tired and rundown. Mas masakit pa palang marinig na marunong tong magmahal.
All I can think of is “Bakit hindi ako yon?”
I chuckled bitterly at my thoughts as my heart sank deeper.
I sighed.
Life is a game and there are only two games. A short and a long game. Sometimes, you need to admit defeat in a short game in order to survive for a long game.
Seeing Devon do random things that makes me constantly feel on edge, this indeed could turn out to be a very long game.
I inhaled deeply.
I looked straight into his eyes and without blinking, I uttered the word. “You.” I heard gasps around us but I didn’t take my eyes off him. “But you broke it, kicked it and threw it away. And left me feel worthless.”
