Scripted Love (UNSCRIPTED): Chapter Three
Angel
“Remember the first time we met?” Nakangiting tanong sakin ni Trey habang tinuturo yung coffee mugs na nasa lamesa na nagkataon na nakahilera sa tapat ko. “But instead of coffee mugs, tatlong klase naman ng cocktails yung nasa harapan mo.”
Inirapan ko to. “You said you are a bartender.”
Trey laughed. Even his laugh is sexy. “You assumed I’m a bartender. I didn’t say I’m one.”
I rolled my eyes at him. On a serious note, how can I even forget that night? Never in my life na na-starstruck ako sa lalaki, until him.
Reminiscing…..
I have three different cocktails in front of me. Carbonated cocktails that look so colorful and sweet I might have a cavity once I finished drinking it.
My nose scratched up. “Why am I doing this again?” Tanong ko kay Armie.
“So you will know the feeling of getting drunk and wasted for the first time in your life?” She explained like she’s talking to a teenager having her first drink on her eighteenth birthday.
I just shook my head in her sarcasm. I popped another olive in my mouth and chewed it thoughtfully.
“And why did you make your date go away?”
“Because I don’t like the way he was looking at you. I’m sure he’s gonna hit on you as soon as I’m out of sight.” She rolled her eyes. “He’s eyeing the wrong person.”
Armie is pretty outspoken. She made it clear earlier to her date that I’m off-limit.
But I think it’s man’s nature to get even more curious when someone is restricting them.
“You look like you are enjoying his company.” Not that I like him for her. More than anyone, I know Armie won’t fall for just any guy. But seeing her having fun, I can’t seem to hate the guy. And like she said, he’s only looking. I don’t think he’s really that stupid to make a move when he’s fudging dating Armie. Come on, never met any woman as hot as Armie. Even Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie in their prime years can’t hold a candle against her.
“He’s not even my type. I’m just bored and he looks ok.” She smirks at pilyang tumitig sakin. “But he’s above average in the junk department. I can feel it when I’m dancing with him earlier.”
I scowled at her. “I can’t hear you. I’m no longer here. I’m in my bed typing a new chapter.”
And like any sister-like-relationship. She deliberately ignored my pleas. “But the thing is you can’t write that new chapter because of your non-existent experience.” Tudyo nito sa pagka stuck ko sa sinusulat kong love scene.
“I have a wild imagination.” I huffed in reply.
Armie laughed wholeheartedly. “The land of make believe then? My virgin writer.”
“Armie!!” Naeeskandalo kong bulalas dito. Napalingon ako sa paligid namin at buti nalang, halos nasa pinaka dulo na ng bar yung pinaka malapit samin.
Alam kong namumula na yung mukha ko sa kahihiyan but not because of the cocktails in front of me but because of my best friend’s tactless behaviour.
I’m really contemplating on walking out when Armie gets her phone out of her back pocket.
She’s just frowning while looking at her screen.
“What’s wrong?” I asked her.
“Robbie is calling and sending me tons of messages.” Armie huffed habang nagsimula tong mag type sa cp nito. “I don’t know what’s wrong with his head. Why do I need to pretend to be his girlfriend? That is extremely disturbing in so many ways.”
Naiiling na nilapag nalang nito yung cp nito sa bar. “He won’t stop calling.”
And true enough, nag pop up ulit yung mukha ni Robbie sa screen.
“Just answer his call. Robbie won’t be bothering you this much if it is not important.”
Tinaasan ako nito ng kilay. “I’m not gonna go outside where I can’t see you in sight.”
“How old am I? Two?” I rolled my eyes and pushed her shoulder in a gentle manner, urging her to go. “I can take care of myself Armie. Just answer his call.”
After a few minutes, she reluctantly agreed and went outside to call him back.
I’m enjoying the mellow voice of the singer on the stage when someone placed a plate in front of me.
There are lots of different nuts and dried fruits in it.
Taas kilay na tinignan ko yung may ari ng kamay na nakahawak sa platito.
A mixture of flooded emotions overcame me nang magtama yung mga mata namin.
I never really believed in attraction at first sight. Hindi sa pagmamayabang, I’m used to gorgeous men. Every single one in Armie’s boy toys are gorgeous. But this one in front of me is not just gorgeous. I never met any man like this one. Everything about him is pure sensual. The way he smiles, the glint in his eyes and even the smirk that’s playing in his lips right now is beyond sensual.
If looking good is a sin. He’s definitely in the top tier in the whole world. And don’t make me go on about his body, kahit may counter na nakaharang sa pagitan namin. He has a body that Vogue loves to shoot.
“And try this one.” May nilagay tong cocktail sa harap ko na. “On the house.”
“Thank you.” I cringed, hearing how weird and breathy my voice came out.
“Trey by the way.” Habang inaabot yung kamay nito sakin which I reluctantly accepted. “Sigrid.”
Trey told me the details about the drinks he gave me but I can’t seem to concentrate.
Writers like me called the nervous in the stomach butterflies but butterflies didn’t cut it. Did butterflies in your stomach also make your eyes glued to his face? Makes your heart beat faster to the point you can hear it? And worst, can those butterflies also make your voice like a toddler that you can’t even speak straight?
I honestly feel like a fish out of the water.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when a younger man stopped besides Trey. “Sorry to interrupt but you are needed urgently at the locker room.” The young man’s eyes widened slightly and gave him a pointed look, as if trying to communicate a message.
A message that Trey seems to understand. He cursed under his breath.
But when he saw me looking, his expressions got gentle.
“Can I have your number?” Wala man lang bwelo na tanong nito.
Mabilis akong napailing. “I don’t think so. You’re not gonna see me here again anyway. There’s no need for exchanging numbers.”
This is only a one time deal with Armie. And honestly, I don’t like the way Trey makes me feel.
“I respect your decision.” He said, looking firmly at me. “But this won’t be the last time you’ll see me, Angel.”
With the sincerity and determination I hear in his voice, I watched him stride away from me.
And that’s the first time we met.
Didn’t know at that time that my life is gonna change and he’s gonna have a big part of it.
