Chapter 1 Celebration
“Congratulations Ralf! This is it, all your hard work is paying off”. Napalingon si Ralf sa nagsalita.
“Thanks Lexie, but I will never be able to do this without you.” Sagot ni Ralf sa kanyang matalik na kaibigan kasabay ng pagtanggap sa champagne na inaabot nito sa kanya.
“I know.” Then sabay silang natawa. Napailing na lng si Ralf sa antics ng kaibigan.
“So, why are you here instead out there celebrating with us?” Curious na tanong ni Lexie.
With somber look, pinasadahan ni Ralf ng tingin ang kanyang bagong office. It’s a simple room, with glass divider para nakikita pa rin nya ang kanyang staff with a typical table, visitor’s chaie and office chair nya. At sa isang gild is a 4 seater meeting table.
“I just can’t believe that this is happening. I’m also scared baka pumalpak ako. This is different now. May mga empleyado na tyong umaasa sa atin. Anything I do, maapektuhan sila.” Sabay buntung hininga.
“Well, that’s why they’re here. You may have the biggest responsibility but you don’t have to do it on your own. And we’re lucky at magagaling ‘yung mga na hire natin. I’m sure they’ll do wonders in the production world.” Lexi answered habang umupo ito sa visitor chair. Saglit nyang binaba ang champagne sa table and seryosong tiningnan si Ralf.
“What?” Tanong ni Ralf nang napansin nyang pinagmamasdan sya ni Lexie.
“You have proven yourself as a talented production manager. I can’t even imagine kung gaano kalaki ang perang naipasok mo sa dati mong kumpanyang pinapasukan.” Seryosong sagot ni Lexie.
“Your talent is too big to be constraint on that level. And I’m sad for them for losing a talented person like you but this is what you’re made for. To run your own kingdom, with rules of your own.” Patuloy na sabi nito. “And it’s normal to feel scared since this is something new. But never doubt your talent. I never doubted that you can make this far.”
“Though I doubted if you got the balls to do it!” Sabay tawa ng malakas. Napatawa na rin dito si Ralf. Then he looked at her and sat down sa isang visitor chair sa harap nito.
“Alright Ms. Lexie Salazar, cheers to new beginnings” Sabay angat ng champagne to clink his glass to Lexie’s.
“Cheers Mr. Laperal, to new beginnings.” as she downed her champagne to Ralf’s amusement.
Pagkaubos ng laman ng inumin, tumayo na si Lexie at naglakad palabas ng office. Before she fully exits, nilingon nya ang kaibigan. “Alright, I’ll give you 5 more minutes to be all fucking sentimental but after that, come out and join us. That will boost the morale of the entire group. Though I know my awesomeness is more than enough, the celebration will not be complete without you. So get your ass out there ok?” With a smirk and not waiting for response, tuluyan ng lumabas si Lexie to join the rest of the team.
Natatawang napailing na lang si Ralf sa kaibigan. After having one last look around, he decided to join his team and enjoy the rest of the night. Tonight they celebrate, tomorrow the work begins.
