Big Shot #1: Ricky ❣ SPECIAL CHAPTER ❣

I sat in my chair pressed to Rain. My arms around her, caressing her arm as we wait for our orders.

We are actually in a cafe near our school.

Joining us at our table were Adien and Embry. They’re discussing how they’re gonna celebrate their sembreak.

Rain and I fell back into our relationship with ease but I burned her trust. I’m still a long way off from earning it back.

The first time we talked to her mom, I felt Rain watching me anxiously. All I could do was to hold her hand and smile at her reassuringly. It finally occurred to me that she was afraid that the conflict between me and her mom might send me running to take care of her sister again.

I understood her concern and that was nothing. There’s nothing I could do but to prove her wrong. I will let my consistency reflect my repentance.

“But I want to be with you much longer than that.” Adien said, startling me out of my thoughts.

I sighed. “You can tell your parents that our group decided to go on a trip.” I suggested, tired of listening to their back and forth.

Adien stared at me, uncertain. Totally wants Embry all by himself.

“Both of you can do whatever you want. We’re not gonna interfere.” I squeezed Rain’s shoulder. “After all, I also want Rain all by myself.” I looked at him pointedly.

Only then, Adien grinned mischievously. “On a second thought, that was a brilliant idea.”

I smirked while Rain wrinkled her nose in a way that made her look more adorable. I slipped my hand down to her waist and slipped my finger under her shirt, absentmindedly caressing her lightly. I stopped when I felt her shiver.

Rain turned to me with a soft smile. “Feeling me up in public?” She murmured.

“You know how handsy I can be when it comes to you.” I answered, grinning from ear to ear. And to prove my point, I squeezed her side gently na syang kinatawa nito.

She slapped my chest. “You should stop, I have a boyfriend you know?”  She said as soon as she stopped laughing.

“Oh I know.” I grinned again. “And that boyfriend totally adores you.” I bent my head to steal a kiss when…

“Ricky, how’s your parent’s reaction when you told them you got back together with Rain?”

Rain and I moved away from each other as Natalie pulled a seat up to our table.

“Lots of scolding and warnings.” I answered, shrugging my shoulders. “Nothing I didn’t expect.”

My parents made it clear they were unhappy about how I treated Rain before. I swear to them in my grandma’s name that it won’t happen again. I told them firmly that I wasn’t going anywhere and Rain is stuck with me for good.

“Where’s Dave?” Pagbabago ng topic ni Adien. I know that he’s doing this for me.

Luckily Natalie took the bait, she scrunched her nose. “With Emir.”

Emir is bad news. Adien and I seem like Michelangelo compared to him. But I can see why Dave and everyone else wants to please him. 

“Did you hear that Emir is gonna coach the soccer team this coming season?” Embry suddenly asked.

“He could coach the basketball team tomorrow and I wouldn’t be surprised.” Sagot ni Adien. “He’s extremely influential in this university.”

“There were a lots of request sa The Voice na interviewhin si Emir.” sabi naman ni Rain.

I snapped my eyes at her and quickly said, “I don’t want you near him.” 

“Me too. Don’t want you near him, Pixie.” I heard Adien parotted in the background.

Embry and Rain just looked at each other and they just both rolled their eyes.

“Don’t worry. Jessica is the one who’s gonna do it.” Rain said, rolling her eyes again while licking the leftover sugar from the donut she’s been eating. That action caught my attention, oddly distracting and intimate which made no sense. I’ve seen a lot of girls licking their fingers before. Nothing intimate about it.

“Jessica? The one we met at the party? The one who dislikes Emir?” sunod sunod naman na tanong ni Natalie. 

I glanced away from Rain’s lips. I had to focus in order to listen. 

When Rain and Embry nodded their heads in confirmation, Natalie tutted. “Poor Jessica.”

I looked at Adien and he’s also looking at me. We clearly have the same thoughts.

Better Jessica than our women.

“But she’s single, right?” Tanong ni Embry.

“That’s what she said last time.” Sagot ni Rain.

Embry’s eyes lit up and then she stared at Natalie, obviously communicating with their eyes. After a few seconds, Natalie’s eyes lit up as well.

Rain groaned and shot them a warning look. “Embry, don’t even think about it.”

When she looked up at me and saw my confused expression, nagpaliwanag to na si Embry yung dahilan kung bakit sya ang nag interview sa akin noon. She’s matchmaking and she wants to do it again to Jessica and Emir.

Natatawa lang na hinalikan ko yung ulo nito. “Then more reason for her to meddle.”

“Ricky!” Rain reprimanded me, pushing me gently.

I catched her hand and kiss her knuckles. “That is the first time na kinausap mo ko ng matagal. I’m really grateful for that opportunity.” Bulong ko dito habang pinipisil ko yung kamay nito.

“See Rain. That is how you should be reacting.” Embry pointed out. “You’ve got your happy ending because of my meddling.” 

I chuckled, pulling Rain back into my arms. I pressed my lips on her temple. “She’s right, you know.” 

Rain scoffed but didn’t contradict me.

She’s so cute and adorable I can’t help but to kiss her nose.

She giggled while pushing me away from here.

Embry’s right. Because of her meddling, I’ve got this at wala na akong mahihiling pa na iba.

I’ve got the girl I’ve been waiting for.

I will do anything in my power to make her happy and based on her smile and giggle. I’m doing a great job.

All I need to do is for her to stay like this.

Happy and content.

As long as my life will allow me.
