Big Shot #1: Ricky ❣ Chapter Seventeen ❣

I’m skipping classes too frequently nowadays. Sa katunayan, andito ako ngayon sa isa sa mga tambayan ko dito sa campus kahit na may klase ako ngayong oras.

Ilang araw na rin ang nakakaraan since Ricky told me everything and I’m still not over it.

You know what’s truly painful?

When someone stabbed your back and that someone is your “mom”.

I mean, what the hell?

Why did she do that? To me, for that matter.

Ok, that may sound so selfish and immature but I can’t help myself for throwing tantrums right now.

I have every right to be childish, right?

“A penny for your thoughts?” Napaigtad ako sa pagkagulat nang may bigla nalang nagsalita at umupo sa tabi ko.

Nagmamadali akong napatingin sa right side ko. “Seth! What are you doing here? You skipped school?”

His lips curled up in amusement. “You realized that I’m also in college, right?” He chuckled. “I can skip whenever I want.”

I rolled my eyes. “You know exactly what I mean.”

“Skipping won’t hurt my perfect record.” Sumandal din to sa puno na sinasandalan ko at tumingin din sa mga estudyante na naglalaro sa field na tinitignan ko kanina. “You look like someone who’s carrying the world on her shoulder.” Pagbabago nito nang usapan.

Napapabuntunghininga na binalik ko nalang yung tingin ko sa may field. “You wouldn’t understand.”

“Try me.” This time, Seth’s voice sounds soft and gentle.

If there is someone who will give me an unbiased opinion. Yung tipong hindi isasaalang alang yung nararamdaman ko, it will be Seth.

But the real question is, am I really ready to hear it?

Seth can be brutally frank.

Ilang minuto ko ding sinuri yung buong mukha nito bago ko binuka yung mga labi ko para sabihin dito yung mga nalaman ko kay Ricky.

Pagkatapos kong magkwento dito nang nangyari, tumingin ako sa mukha nito at napakunot noo nalang ako nang makita ko na hindi man lang to nagulat o nasorpresa sa mga sinabi ko. Pero bago ko pa ako makapagtanong, nagsalita nato. “There are only two possibilities that I could think of.”

“First, she really thinks Tin is suicidal.” He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. “She is her mom after all.”

He looked at me straight in the eyes. “And lastly.” His face turned serious. “She thinks Ricky didn’t deserve a second chance which is, if you ask me, a complete bullshit.”

Nababahagdan akong napatanga sa mukha nito. “A complete bullshit?”

He snorted. “Everyone deserves a second chance.”

I snorted back. “But there’s always an exemption to the rule.”

“If you killed, hurt and molested someone with the real intent to kill, hurt and molest them. You’re that exemption. What happened between you and Ricky was way too far from those.”

He hurt me. He cheated……..

“And please sweetheart, don’t throw me this pathetic line, “He cheated on me with my sister.”

“What did you say? Pathetic?” I exclaimed, feeling extremely embarrassed and irritated dahil yon naman talaga yung tumatakbo sa isipan ko.

Pero imbis na patulan ako, iba yung lumabas sa bibig nito. “Bakit inalok mo si Ricky na maging boyfriend mo noon kahit alam mong si Tin yung mahal nito? You even lied about Tin’s feelings.”

I glared at him. “I didn’t lie!”

“And my sister feels uncomfortable with you.” He quoted and glanced at me. “Ring a bell?”

What the fvck?

Paano nito nalaman yung sinabi ko noon kay Ricky?

I glared at him. “That’s not entirely a lie. That time, Tin is with someone. It’s really uncomfortable.” I snapped in a defensive manner.

Seth shook his head. “Tin loves attention. Especially Ricky’s attention. Sa tingin mo ba, wala talagang alam si Tin sa feelings ni Ricky noon? She loves playing games with Ricky’s emotions and my cousin is so stupid to even see it.”

“And now, Ricky is the monster because he slept with your sister. If there’s someone to blame. Blame your manipulative and evil sister.”

Fvck Seth and his unfiltered mouth.

Dahil wala akong mapag-ibsan ng sakit na nararamdaman ko, binunot ko nalang yung damo na nakapaligid sa inuupuan ko.

“Don’t forget the fact, na mga bata palang kayo, alam mong si Tin ang mahal nya. Hindi agad agad yon mabubura ng dalawang buwan lang or so he thought.”

This is worse than being in physical pain!

“He didn’t cheat on you just to spite you. He didn’t cheat on you dahil gusto nya lang. He didn’t cheat on you because of lust. He did that because he really thought that time, he’s still in love with Tin.”

Ibubuka ko na sana yung mga labi ko nang pinigilan ako nito. “What he did was wrong, there’s no doubt about that. But stop pointing fingers, sweetheart. You also did the same, alam mong kahit ni katiting, wala syang feelings sayo but you still ask him to be your boyfriend and even lied to him. Ricky did what he did for the same reason.” He looked at me pointedly. “You’re both hoping that the other party will love you back.”

“And you even forget the fact that in the first place, it’s not really cheating.”

“Stop.” Nahihirapan kong pigil dito.

Feeling ko lahat ng enerhiya ko hinigop ng mga salita ni Seth. Pero katulad ng ini-expect ko, nagpatuloy pa rin to. “He dumped you. Mali na umaksyon sya agad pagkatapos nang nangyari. But still, hindi nya kayo pinagsabay. If you finally have a chance to be with someone na ilang taon mong minahal, palalampasin mo ba?”

Napatiim baga nalang ako dahil wala naman akong isasagot dito. Katulad nang sinabi nito kanina, I also did the same.

“You said that you already forgiven him but you’re still holding a grudge. The fact that you’re still throwing this “Ricky cheated on me with my sister” is the proof of it.”

I closed my eyes and clenched my fists so hard. “I said stop Seth! I heard enough.”

But to my surprise, Seth patted the top of my head and gave me a warm smile na para bang hindi nito ininsulto buong pagkatao ko. “I’m on your side Rain. No one is going to give you the same advice as I did dahil hindi naman nila alam yung side ni Ricky.”

Nanghihina na napatingin nalang ako dito. “Why are you doing this?”

“Let just say that I’m tired of hearing Ricky’s sober stories, again and again. Sa tingin mo ba, bakit miski kaliit liitang bagay alam ko yung nangyari sa inyong dalawa?”

Hindi ko to sinagot pero hindi ko inalis yung pagkakatingin ko dito.

“Dahil sa loob ng tatlong taon, my stupid cousin can’t stop talking about you.” He tapped my shoulder and stood up in nonchalant manner na para bang hindi nito nilabas lahat ng natatago kong emosyon. “Just cut him some slack.”

I sighed and looked away. “This is not going anywhere, you know. I have a boyfriend.” Nanghihina pa ring usal ko habang naka focus yung mga mata ko sa may field.

Narinig ko yung mahina nitong pagtawa. “Did you really think, I didn’t know that?”

I looked up. “Then why?”

“Why not?” He smirked. “Boyfriend means 1. A beau 2. A male lover or 3. A male friend.” Lumawak yung pagkakangisi nito habang hinihilig nito yung katawan nito sa puno na sinasandalan ko. “So tell me, doll face. Alin si Wyatt sa tatlong yon?” dagdag na tanong nito pero halata sa tono nito na alam na nito yung sagot.

Damn it!
